State of the Fed Address (+ Roll Call)

I'm gonna cut right to the chase everyone. I'm seriously having my doubts on EMERGE opening up on time next year. Granted, I understand we're still roughly 6 months away from our target launch date. Their hasn't been much I can really do on my end, preparation wise until more info on WWE 13 is released. Hopefully by next week, we will all have a better picture on the new game.

Despite my efforts of promoting the place. The membership numbers haven't gone up in a while. Which leads me to be concerned if we'll even have enough people here to run the league. Is the problem... me? lol. I hate to say that. I know I'm not the most well liked person in the e-fed community. But if anything else, despite what people may feel about me personally. I know in my heart, if given the opportunity. I can run an e-fed successfully, and for many, many years to come. However, it's a two way street. I can't do this alone without the support of the members behind me. Without you guys. This fed is nothing. Same can be said for other feds that our currently active, or will be opening up shop in the coming months.

If I can be completely honest with each of you. I'm pretty well burnt out on 'simmed' e-feds. For a variety of reasons. I don't have the same burning desire, or the passion to really 'care' anymore. The fun factor for me has died, and it has been dying out now for the last couple of years. Mainly its due to a bad relationship I've had with another league. Which I'll admit, both parties are at fault. But the end result has left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth that I haven't been able to rinse out.

HOWEVER...

I am more than fully committed to running EMERGE, if we have support for it. I'm doing this for YOU guys, not for me. Frankly, if I had to base this fed around what I wanted to do. I would've shut this place down a long time ago. But it's not about me, and that's the point I want to get across to everyone reading this. Whether you're a member here, or a guest passing through. EMERGE will always be: "For the members. By the members". I started e-fedding as a member. Now, I'm more than ready & determined, to transition to that next level.

Everyone here deserves a good e-fed to be apart of. One that is fair, and can be fun for everybody. As it stands right now. We have roughly 8 members. 5 of which, are active. Not counting the multiple accounts that I've created. If that's the numbers we have heading into January. We're in deep trouble. To me, their is no way a fed can run on a limited number of characters.

Right now, if EMERGE opens up shop. What characters do you guys plan to bring in?

I don't plan to run every character listed for every week. I'd say 2-3 will be ran every week. While the others will be roleplayed on any bi-weekly basis. Unless they're involved in a major storyline.

Even if the worst should happen that EMERGE doesn't work out. I have alternative plans for the place on backup. I don't want the progress made, and mapped out to go to waste. One way or the other. I'm going to make EMERGE into something. Whether it's an e-fed with everyone's help & support. Or into another entity. Maybe a CAW show or something else along those lines that everyone could still be apart of.

You hit the nail on the head man, these are some of same issues that palgued me over my place.. I appreciate the 4 loyal fans that stuck by me but it gets discouraging when they and other members stop following the shows.. IT.s a pain in ass to do all this for such a low fanbase.. It has got me thinking " is it me?, what did i do to you,let's work it out".. Hoping once game is out that everyone starts popping up for our sites thou.. Keeping fingers crossed.. As for my submissions here: Biron Rolari will be here to emerge(hee hee cwutidid) on his own, still up in air who else may be dropping by

Be cool to battle Lucaplakia(sees who gets movie ref lol) around here.. One big thing that has to be in order for companies to have a chane this year if a finely tuned CC.. That was the killer this year for everyone.. If we have to resort to forms again then might as well pack it up..

I think the main issue we have is there's way too many e-feds out their as it is. Think about it. We've got:

1. EMERGE
2. BPW
3. Viral Pro
4. I:W/TNB
5. PWN
6. WWA

and probably a few others I'm either unaware of, or forgetting. What I'm getting at with this is. With so many feds out their, with the majority of the members being in the 'same leagues', more or less. Maybe it's best we do something else with EMERGE? Rather then turn it into just 'another e-fed', ya know?

With Viral Pro, it's going to fill the niche left behind by all the great feds. It's going to do what I've wanted for the past few years. Rekindle the passion in the guys/girls who walked away either fully, or temporarily.
The one thing e-feds have lacked in the last 4 years, is storylines that anyone can walk into, be a part of, and either stick within it, or branch out on their own while still staying relevant within it.
I've reached out, offered a place for everyone to come together, PS3 and 360 included, and just make one giant successful company. Something Karl can't do because people can't see beyond the mistakes in the past, or have ongoing problems with due to personal issues.

So I took it upon myself to create what we all needed. A neutral fed where everyone is welcome, with my name attached, and running things. I think/believe of all the fed-heads running now, their are more people who will flock to VP, then avoid it. Judging by the messages I've recieved thus far regarding the fed, and what's been posted, it's about to blow up, and the game hasn't even come out yet. So I have high hopes, and a few good heads investing their time into it. So we won't be "just another fed".

I:W has hit a snag somewhat
WWA has slowed right down.
BPW is getting their stuff together
Your already questioning running it, saying you will for "us" though.

The most active place currently, is Viral Pro, and we haven't even started yet. Looks like a 3 fed competition if you stay in the game.

I'm also willing to do what no other fed does. Acknowledge every fed going, and treat it all as one universe. We're also willing to "partner up" and share our toys with everyone else. We're not handcuffing people, and forcing things on them. We've taken a concept which in every right should work, implemented it, and are currently reaping the rewards, without so much as a preview show. The doors opened, people are cutting their teeth with new characters, and the real work is about to begin. While every fed shuts down for "off season" we intend to continue, with anticipation building videos, teaser matches, and continuous activity. That means people investing their time there, and staying on, which might cost some places in the end.

That being said, the door is open to any and everyone. I'm not an evil dictator, and have proved time and time again, to be the calm, cool headed voice of reason. Always have an ear open for discussions, and a seat at the table to negotiate collaborations.

As for Emerge, no matter what route you take, I'll follow, and more then likely participate if time isn't an issue to me. As I do every year, I look at what is open, and where I can do my best with my time. My time will be spent on VP obviously, but from there, who knows. My last hurrah has always been predicted to go out as a fed head and on my own terms, instead of anybody elses. I've still got the passion, been 14 years now. Could be another few before my time is up.

Yep, I agree with you on that. E-Feds have been more about Wins/Losses over storylines in the last several years. At least, that's been the attitude amongst the members who started from 2008 and beyond. Where it seemed like the focus started to change into caring about getting a win, than your storyline or character development. If at least one league out there can change the course of that pattern, then skies the limit.

That's what my intention is for EMERGE. To break the barriers down, where we could acknowledge other leagues and somehow, even if it was just through character history or a past feud. Could acknowledge and tip the hat to leagues like Viral Pro or PWN or even I:W. Cross-Promotional stuff, if it could be worked out amongst the fed heads of each league. Stuff that frankly, we didn't really do much of years ago. Where everything was a completely different mindset. Like ya know, if you're apart of one fed. How dare you support this other league, etc, etc.

All that aside. That's why I bring up the fact of their being so many e-feds opening up lately (or in the process of doing that). Questioning whether or not it's worth it for EMERGE to stay as an e-fed, or go someplace else. Outside of having the support that will hold the federation up where it can stand and go places. One big thing I question is stretching the mentality of the members too thin. We're all apart of other leagues in some form. My concern is burning members out to the point where they don't want to continue on. My believe is, the more feds you have out their. That's always going to be a cause for concern, that will take place. Which case, I'm all for people needing to take their breaks and what have you. Yet at the same time, it can also cripple a league too.

Than again, by the same token. At least there's options for everybody. More feds = more choice.

As much I want to run EMERGE and make it succeed. I'm also open to, as a worst case scenario. Not turning this into an e-fed and let it become something else. In a way, I'm torn between wanting to satisfy my own ego. To making the smart decision and looking at things realistically.

As a member of the e-fed community in seven years. I've been everything from World Champion to Legend to GM/Co-Owner. Everything else in between over the years. This is my last goal on the bucket list, so to speak. So that is where my ego steps into play, where I want to make this work just so I can sit back & say I did everything I sat out to do. Yet, there's another side of me that realizes. If the members aren't there. Obviously, there's that lack of support to carry the federation beyond just myself, and a handful of members who are committed. Where I do question if it's worth making a go at this, or letting the other leagues have there fun.

Same here, banking on a re-hauled CC for our companies to stay open and not be set back again not being able to grab the caws needed this year...

If we are stuck with a craptastic CC, I am not even gonna bother and waste hours trying to grab one caw setting me back on show making that the caw is needed for and shit...

We'll see how things look as we get closer & closer to the launch. If things look bad heading into January. I'll do what I have to do and come up with something else to go forward with here at EMERGE. Otherwise, if we have a good turn out? We continue on with the e-fed plans.
